Estonian National Museum’s faculty in Heimtali
Estonian National Museum’s faculty in Heimtali is a small museum located in an old village school. The collections consist of the history of the local school, local domestic life, and historic textiles. The museum is carrying on the tradition that to learn about a craft one must also be able to have a closer look at the objects and maybe also peek on the backside. For that the open collection approach is used. Mostly the museum is visited with a guide. The dedication that the visitors experience combined with a possibility to get surprisingly close to the objects is making Heimtali museum more and more special during the time where most museums stress the digital.
